So it begins...

After much thought, I decided to start this blog as a way to share my journey to a healthier me as well as sharing some healthy recipes. 

In March I decided to do the AdvoCare 24 day Challenge.  I had been struggling for a while with getting a routine and sticking with it.  I had been very successful with starting a workout routine and was very successful with quitting after a week.  I needed something, a jump start if you will.  I had heard some buzz about AdvoCare on other blogs that I read and did some research.  It looked like a healthy way to kick my bad habbits (read: chocolate, sugar, coffee, carbs, etc) and start replacing them with healthy habbits.  I managed to convince two of my friends to do the 10 day cleanse with me.  I was so excited when they agreed, afterall everything is more fun if you can bring some friends into it with you. 

We started the cleanse on a Monday.  I was SO nervous that I was going to feel horrible but, to my surprise I felt great.  I was a two cups of coffee a day lady before the cleanse and I only had a headache the first day.  I decied I would just go to bed when I put Boogie (our son, not his real name) to bed.  It helped a lot, rest is what I needed!  On day two I was amazed that I felt great.  After the 10 day cleanse I had lost 12 pounds and felt amazing.  No coffee, no sugar, no flour, & no alcohol for 10 days.  I was so pleased that I decided to continue on and do the whole 24 day challenge.  I am so glad that I did, it is just what I needed to keep my good habits in motion. 

Since doing the AdvoCare 24 day challenge I have lost 15 pounds and have put a jump start on my road to a healthy life.  I continue to use AdvoCare products as a part of my daily fitness routine and I look forward to seeing myself hit goals along the way. 

I am currently preparing to run a 5K on May 11th.  Do you have any tips for me?
